Birth Records 

  • There are no birth records in Ohio prior to 1867
  • Microfilmed birth records from 1867-1908 are available in the Local History Room of Coshocton County District Library. There is an index of these records. These records are also available at the Coshocton County Probate Court.
  • Birth certificates 1910 to present are available at the Coshocton Public Health District
  • Birth certificates for 1909 are available through the Ohio Department of Health (a few certificates exist in 1908, but are mainly records)
  • Secretary of State’s Office in Washington D.C. should be contacted for those born abroad
  • Adoption records should be obtained through the Ohio Department of Vital Statistics 

Death Records 

  • Death records should be obtained from the county where the person’s death occurred
  • There are no death records in Ohio prior to 1867
