Gift Policy
The Coshocton County District Library encourages gifts of materials or money for materials by groups or individuals, citizens of the county and beyond, foundations, corporations, etc. The Library cannot be responsible for the appraisal of gifts for income tax or any other purpose. The Collection Policy should be referenced for gifts specific to materials.
Coshocton County District Library welcomes gifts of financial support. The Library encourages unrestricted gifts that allow the Library to best use the gift for current programs, projects, or operating expenditures. Restricted gifts that support a donor’s particular interest are acceptable provided the restrictions are deemed appropriate. Unless expressly prohibited, restricted contributions are given with the understanding that the gift may be used for another purpose if the Board of Trustees determines that the restriction is no longer achievable. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to accept or reject gifts.
The Board of Trustees will accept all gifts of cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities. All donations of stock will be immediately liquidated barring any unforeseen difficulties. Other types of donations are acceptable provided the donation may be readily sold/redeemed or is of current/future use to the library.
